Ion Chicu met the Ambassador of Romania

Prime Minister Chicu had a meeting with E.S. Daniel Ioniţă, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to the Republic of Moldova. The sides exchanged views on the evolution of the epidemiological situation in Moldova and Romania, reads a press release of the Executive.

The Prime Minister thanked the Romanian people for the help offered in order to fight the epidemic, mentioning especially the mission of Romanian doctors and rescuers. The support has a special value on the grounds that it was provided during the emergency and consists of equipment and essential products for managing the epidemiological situation.

Restrictions to prevent the spread of the epidemic have affected economic processes globally, generating significant GDP contractions and blocking the work of major industries. Getting out of the quarantine  at the regional level will involve communicating and maintaining a prudent balance to prevent a wave of infections.

Ion Chicu appreciated the support of Romania offered to the Republic of Moldova in the process of European integration and is confident that bilateral relations will develop in a friendly manner, based on mutual respect.
