An International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission led by Ruben Atoyan will visit Chisinau during June 26 – July 10, 2019, Volodymyr Tulin, IMF Resident Representative in the Republic of Moldova announced in a press statement, IPN reports.

Even if the deadline for putting the Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline into operation is this yearend, the new Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Vadim Brînzan said the pipeline will be 90% ready late in 2019. In a program on TVR Moldova channel, he said the gas will start to be supplied through this pipeline next February, IPN reports.

Prime Minister Maia Sandu had an official meeting with Chief of the European Union Delegation in Chisinau, Peter Michalko. The head of the Executive thanked the European official for the enormous help offered to the Republic of Moldova by the European Union over time, reports Moldova 1.

Ukrtransgaz has sent an offer to the government of the Republic of Moldova due to the delayed construction of the Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline. The neighboring country proposes to Moldova to import natural gas from the EU without the participation of Gazprom, as well as to create its own gas reserves in the Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities, reports Radio Moldova.
