Victor Sterpu wins bronze at Grand Slam in Antalya
Judoka Victor Sterpu has won a bronze medal at the Antalya Judo Grand Slam.
He made his debut with two victories in the 73 kg class, against Algeria’s Fethi Nourine and Mexico’s Gilberto Cardoso, but was beaten by the future winner Fabio Basile of Italy, Olympic champion in2016.
In the playoffs, Victor, who has practically qualified for the Tokyo Olympics, scored two more victories, against Belgian’s Jeroen Casse and Poland’s Adam Stodolski.
Victor Sterpu is in the top 20 in the world and is qualified for the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
