Over two million lei will be allocated for the demolition of the block in Otaci

The Commission for Exceptional Situations decided to allocate 2.2 million lei from the Government Intervention Fund for the demolition of the damaged block in the city of Otaci.

According to a Government communiqué, at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Ion Chicu, the estimate of expenses necessary for the allocation of construction materials and the liquidation of the consequences of bad weather in several localities in Criuleni, Soroca and Glodeni districts was also approved.

In total, 2,162 slate sheets, 1,025 square meters of metal tiles and 15.1 cubic meters of timber were allocated for the three districts. The total value amounts to 505,000 lei.

TRM.MD recalls that the tragedy in Otaci took place on the evening of June 19, 2019. Nine floors collapsed. Until this happened, several locals, including children, were evacuated.
