Former judges of the Constitutional Court did not attend the hearings in Parliament

Former judges of the Constitutional Court did not attend the hearings of the Parliamentary Inquiry Commission for the elucidation of the factual and legal circumstances regarding the attempt of unconstitutional coup undertaken by the PDM from June 7-9 this month, reports Mesager.

The president of the commission, Mihai Popşoi, announced today that the magistrates sent only a letter with explanation, invoking the provisions of the Constitution, according to which "the CC judges cannot be held legally responsible for the votes or opinions expressed in the exercise of the mandate, including even after exercising the mandate".

“Their presence at the Inquiry Commission in Parliament cannot necessarily be interpreted as a legal liability. Attendance at the inquiry commission was mandatory. They had to come and provide the full information about those bad events for our country. It was common sense for these CC judges to come and to explain that situation", said Mihai Popşoi, MP of PAS.
