Record of COVID-19 infections in several countries

Coronavirus attacks ruthlessly, tens of thousands of people find out every day that they are infected. A new record of contamination in France, almost 50,000, Italy announces another 27,000 new cases, Spain and Great Britain report 23,000 diseases each. Dramatic situation across the ocean, where over 91,000 people were tested positive. In this context, many countries have decided to return, in whole or in part, to the national quarantine, reports Moldova 1.

Since midnight, France has been in full quarantine. In the streets of Paris, infernal blockades formed after people rushed to leave the city and those living in the Paris metropolis to get home. As of today, the French are no longer allowed to leave their homes except to go to work or to the doctor. Bars and restaurants are closed, students return to online classes, but schools and factories remain open.

Several regions of Spain have decided to introduce quarantine, while Parliament has agreed to extend the state of emergency for another six months, until 9 May.

Italy has the highest number of infections since the beginning of the pandemic, about 27,000 new cases. Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte wants to impose even tougher restrictions, while large-scale protests against the measures are taking place in several cities.

Germany will take thousands of police officers to the streets to enforce the new restrictions, which come into force on Monday. At this time, the intensive care units are not crowded, only the number of hospitalizations has increased.

Things are getting worse in Ukraine. The neighboring country has reported more than 8,000 new cases in the past 24 hours, the highest daily toll since the start of the pandemic. There are hospitals that have announced that they no longer have vacancies.

Absolute record of Coronavirus in the United States as well. Over 91,000 cases in the last 24 hours. This figure has never been reported before. At the same time, the Americans started stockpiling food again, for fear of a new lockdown.

And Belarus has announced that it is temporarily closing its land borders with the European Union and Ukraine, citing the fight against the spread of Coronavirus. According to Minsk authorities, these restrictions will not apply to diplomatic personnel or international freight trucks, as well as to international flights.

Poland has announced that the restrictions apply only to foreign nationals, and Belarusians can still enter their country through land border crossings. At the same time, several passenger vehicles coming from Lithuania could not enter Belarus due to the epidemiological situation. The announcement comes as Belarus has been rocked by an unprecedented wave of protests since early August.

In Romania, doctors say they will switch to disaster medicine due to the large number of contaminations. This means that doctors will have to choose who they treat because they will not be able to save them all.
