Ion Chicu: The project to cap local taxes will attract new investments in Moldova

The project of capping local taxes within the budgetary-fiscal policy for 2021 will attract new investments in the Republic of Moldova, Prime Minister Ion Chicu said after Monday's meeting of the country's top leadership. According to the prime minister, foreign investors who decide to use industrial areas in several districts of the country will know the local tax for several years, and not just the tax during a mayor's term in a locality, Moldova 1 reports.

"In the draft fiscal policy for next year, the government comes with several facilities, which in turn - provide local public authorities with many more tools to strengthen their fiscal base. On the other hand, we, those who want to attract investments in territories, want to ensure a forecast and predictability for investors," said Prime Minister Ion Chicu.

TRM.MD recalls that last week, several representatives of the Congress of Local Authorities of Moldova organized a protest action in front of the Government, demanding the cancellation of the project to cap local taxes.
