Romanian Film Days in Chisinau

The fifth edition of the Romanian Film Days (ZFR) in Chisinau starts today, at the Odeon cinema, with the screening of "La Gomera" (2019), by Corneliu Porumboiu, presented in the competition of the Cannes Festival and proposed by Romania to Oscar.

For four days, six of the most successful new Romanian films, selected in the major festivals, will be screened for the first time in Moldova at the ZFR, in the presence of special guests. The program also includes two classic titles dedicated to the actor Ilarion Ciobanu and included in the Retro section and a selection of school movies of the directors of the New Romanian Cinema generation.

In all, nine feature films and five short films are part of the selection of ZFR 2019. Entrance is free, limited to available seats. All screenings take place at the Odeon Cinematograph, with the exception of the school films from the UNATC Bucharest archive, which can be watched at the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts (AMTAP).

Six titles were included in the main section, dedicated to the most appreciated new films. The event will be opened by the screening of the most recent film by the well-known director Corneliu Porumboiu, "La Gomera" (2019), with Vlad Ivanov  playing the main part.

The fifth edition of ZFR Chisinau takes place between October 10 and 13 at the Odeon Cinema and AMTAP.

For the first time, the Romanian Film Days will be extended this year to other cities in Moldova: Cahul, Calarasi and Nisporeni. The selection of films and the program of screenings from the three settlements will be announced soon.

The Days of the Romanian Film from Chisinau are organized by the Association of Alternative Cinema in Moldova and the Rova Film Production House in Romania.
