IDIS "Viitorul": Most state-owned enterprises lack transparency

Most state-owned enterprises in the country have a low level of transparency and openness related to organization and activity. This conclusion was made today by IDIS Viitorul experts, in a Report on "Transparency Monitoring of Moldovan Public Enterprises, Between Reforms, Integrity and Credibility". According to the expert Viorel Pârvan, although the largest and most important enterprises in the country have been evaluated, their general average of transparency has exceeded just over 17% out of 100%, Radio Moldova News reports.

"A certain opening of our enterprise is observed when publishing the annual reports and the indicators of the economic and financial results. We have 29 businesses that have published these reports and 42 enterprises that have published the results. We wanted to see if companies are publicizing who the founders are, the owners, and what are the shares they own. It is not a complicated secret information," said Viorel Pârvan.

Between April and June 2018, IDIS "Viitorul", taking over the Slovak experience, monitored 68 state, municipal and commercial enterprises to determine the level of transparency in their work for 2017.
