A mercenary, fighting in eastern Ukraine, detained by SIS officers
A 32-year-old mercenary fighting in eastern Ukraine was detained on Wednesday evening by intelligence and security officers at Chisinau Airport and escorted to the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Causes, reports Moldova 1.
He arrived in the country with a flight from Moscow. During searches, a card was discovered confirming that he was a member of a paramilitary Cossack organization.
The man is a native of Taraclia, former military in the special troops of the National Army. For mercenary actions, the law provides for imprisonment of up to 10 years.
