Study: More than 60 percent of Moldovans do not practice sports

Over 60 percent of Moldovans do not practice sport and only two out of ten go to a fitness room. At least that's what a survey data from a Moldovan marketing consulting company show. The study shows, however, that the number of sports people is higher compared to 2015 when this rate was 85%. Those who deal with sport are first and foremost thinking about their health and well-being, Moldova 1 reports.

Data show that 63 percent of respondents do not practice sport at all. People say they can not do physical exercise due to lack of time.

The study shows, however, that two out of ten Moldovans do sports every day and 11 percent - weekly. According to research, 80 percent of those who practice sports say they do it to make them feel better. Most, over 40 percent, practice gymnastics. Another 18 percent of respondents are passionate about jogging, 14 percent of walks, and 13 percent of football.

The survey was conducted on a sample of 635 people aged 18 to 70. The data were collected from February 14 to March 7. The error margin is ±4%.
