The cars of the future - created by pupils and students from Moldova

The cars of the future - created by pupils and students from Moldova. For two months, 40 young people, assigned to teams, participated in several workshops where they learned the process of creating an autonomous racing car, which is being moved only with a digitized command, reports Moldova 1.

The youngsters initially worked on the concept of inventions, so that the prototype machines could maintain a linear trajectory and be able to park and brake in the event of an emergency.

The youngsters had both theoretical and practical classes, being trained by international teachers and specialists.

This project was organized with the support of several international partners, including the Swedish Embassy in Moldova.

"We support the IT industry because it is a perspective sector and because it is very important for the young generation to have opportunities to make its future here in Moldova," said Thomas Alveteg, First Secretary of the Swedish Embassy in Moldova.

From year to year, in the Republic of Moldova, the IT field is expanding, thanks to the implementation of reforms supported by the Government, the authorities say.

"Of course we are concerned that IT will get into as many spheres as possible. The Government of the Republic of Moldova has come up with a very generous legislative package through legislation on IT parks. What they are doing here today, from passion, tomorrow can become a career," said State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy, Vitalie Tarlev.

Annually, external donors support the IT sector with over $1 million.
