Two die after falling into sewage well
A man aged 24 and a 21-year-old girl from Buciumeni village of Ungheni district died after they fell into a sewage well full with water in the morning of May 18, IPN reports.
Ungheni Police Inspectorate press officer Cristina Vicol said a 27-year-old man called the police early in the morning and informed that two persons fell into a sewage well with water at the entrance to the village and are both unconscious.
It was established that the young man and woman had been in a bar situated nearby, where they drank alcoholic beverages. The girl went out and fell into the five-meter deep well as a result of a moment’s inattention.
She cried for help and the boy, trying to save her, also fell into this. A number of persons made effort to take them out, but failed.
The police are investigating the case.
