Foreign Minister Nicu Popescu pays an official visit to Brussels
Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu, pays an official visit to the NATO Headquarters in Brussels. During the visit, the head of the Chisinau diplomacy will have a meeting with NATO Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller, reports Moldova 1 TV.
The Republic of Moldova cooperates with NATO in several areas. The main objective of NATO cooperation is to support our country's efforts in reforming and modernizing defense and security structures and institutions. Moldova also contributes to the NATO-led peacekeeping force in Kosovo.
We remind that during the visit to Brussels on July 3-4, Prime Minister Maia Sandu had a meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. The talks focused on the transformation of the Republic of Moldova from a gray area between East and West created by the former regime through corruption and money laundering schemes into a democratic state that ensures the security of its citizens and stability in the region.
