Several people were injured after an individual opened fire on a tram in the Dutch city of Utrecht, the police said, according to the Sky News website, quoted by mediafax.ro
The incident occurred on Monday morning, around 10:45 local time (11:45 PM Romania Time), in the Oktoberplein area of Utrecht.
According to the AD news site, the attacker ran away from the crime scene.
Several emergency helicopters were sent to the area, the police said, without specifying how many people were transported to the hospital.
Tram traffic has been stopped all over the city as a result of this incident, local authorities said, according to BBC News.
