"It is a very important biennial for Romania as well as for us. It is a joy for my work to be part of an exhibition that can be seen by many viewers. However, the works that enter such exhibitions work in a way in favor of the artist," said the plastic artist Vasile Sitari.

The International Biennial of Engraving "Iosif Izer" is organized at the "Prahova" Art Museum in Ploieşti since 1993.

"We have been amused by artists from South Africa, from countries we did not expect, from Iraq, Thailand. And it's very interesting to observe what is happening nowadays technically and stylistically around the world, from South America to Japan," says Valter Paraschiovescu, the biennial of engraving commissioner.

The retrospective of the International Biennial of Engraving "Iosif Izer" from Ploiesti arrives for the third time in Chisinau in the context of the collaboration between the two institutions. The event is a chance for plastic artists and arts admires to discover a world-wide panorama of engraving at home.
