Four medals for Moldova at the European Sambo Championships

In Gijon, Spain, the European championships of sambo for seniors took place.

The contest was attended by fighters from the Republic of Moldova, some of them climbing the prize-giving stage. Victoria Bolohan, in the 72-pound weight category, won a bronze medal. Paulina Esanu, 52 pounds, arrived in the final of the competition, awarding her a silver medal. At 62 kg-category of combat, Timur Andrieş managed to finish a very difficult competition in third place, while Mariana Donos, on the last day of the competition, at 56 kilograms, came to the final.

Moldova's balance sheet at the Mainland Competition was four medals, including two silver and two bronze medals.

The European Sambo Federation has also established, on this occasion, that in 2020 the European Seniors Championships will take place in Yekaterinburg, Russia.
