Moldova found out its opponents from the preliminaries of the 2023 European Youth Championship

The draw for the preliminary groups of the 2023 European Youth Championship took place on January 28 in Zurich (Switzerland). The U-21 national team of Moldova will play in group E with the Netherlands, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Wales and Gibraltar.

53 member associations of the European forum were divided into nine preliminary groups: eight with six teams and one with five teams. The hosts, Romania and Georgia, are directly qualified for the final tournament.

Group A: Croatia, Austria, Norway, Finland, Azerbaijan, Estonia
Group B: Germany, Poland, Israel, Hungary, Latvia, San Marino
Group C: Spain, Russia, Slovakia, Northern Ireland, Lithuania, Malta
Group D: Portugal, Greece, Iceland, Belarus, Cyprus, Liechtenstein
Group E: Netherlands, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Wales, Moldova, Gibraltar
Group F: Italy, Sweden, Ireland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Luxembourg
Group G: England, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Albania, Kosovo, Andorra
Group H: France, Serbia, Ukraine, Northern Macedonia, Faroe Islands, Armenia
Group I: Denmark, Belgium, Turkey, Scotland, Kazakhstan

The winners of the groups and the best team ranked second will qualify directly for the final tournament, which will be hosted by Romania and Georgia between June and July 2023. Eight other national teams ranked second will reach the dam to determine the last four selected qualified for the European Youth Championships.

Preliminary matches will begin this March. The program of the parties will be established later.
