“George Coşbuc” Square in Chisinau to be rebuilt

Chisinau City Hall informs that the square on George Cosbuc Street, Râşcani district in Chisinau will be re-arranged in current year. The design concept was developed in the framework of the pilot project - "Re-designing the public space. Citizens shape their future, "part of the trilateral agreement between Mannheim - Chişinău - Cernăuţi, and the rehabilitation of the green area will begin this week, reads a press release of Chisinau City Hall.

The execution project was carried out by the architectural teams, the designers: S.R.L. "LAMIEZ" and AO "Urbanism Center", which won the 1st place at the Municipal Contest held on 02 - 29 October 2018.

The works consist of re-arrangement of green spaces and pedestrian alleys, installation of public pedestrian lighting and urban furniture. There will also be a children's playground and bicycle parking facilities.

The cost of the works for reconstruction of the square is 1.4 million lei, of which 40 percent is the grant and the rest of the amount will be covered from the municipal budget sources.

We remind that the initiative of re-arranging the square in George George Street is made within the Trilateral Project of the Mannheim - Chişinău - Cernăuţi cities.
