The square on Bucuriei Street has been renovated

A breath of fresh air for the inhabitants of the Buiucani sector. After more than 20 years, the square on Bucuriei Street was renovated. The rehabilitation works lasted five months time when the sidewalks and pedestrian alleys were repaired, the green spaces were rehabilitated, the urban furniture was replaced, a playground was built and bicycle lanes were arranged. Also, an irrigation system was installed, as well as the lighting of the square, reports Moldova 1.

Passers-by say they are delighted with the modern look of the park, but need time to adjust to the new street furniture.

"We tried a little to diversify this square through urban furniture, which is handmade, designed exclusively for the Bucuriei square. The location of the plant pots, integrated in the bench, but also of the wooden seat gives us a special urban comfort,” says the architect Alexandrin Buraga.

A chair for people with special needs has also been installed in the park. The iron installation has this space specially allocated for the placement of the wheelchair. Such a chair was recently installed in Valea Trandafirilor park.

"Practically, absolutely everything was done from scratch in the Bucuriei square. There were several works, starting with the pavement, the pedestrian alleys, but also the bike lanes, the lighting, the urban furniture," declared the mayor of Chisinau, Ion Ceban.

At the same time, in the center of the square, a fir tree was planted. It will be decorated with lights and multicolored globes during the winter holidays.

"In this park, we never had public lighting, we did not have public lighting networks, we did not have aqueduct networks, and the last intervention on the slopes was made at the end of the 90s", said the mayor of the Buiucani sector, Vadim Brânzaniuc.

The square was rehabilitated with the support of several entrepreneurs and local authorities who allocated 500,000 lei from the municipal budget. At the same time, after more than 20 years, the traffic on Bucuriei Street, in the perimeter of Ion Creangă Street and Henri Coandă Street was resumed.
