Rescuers donate blood on the World Blood Donor Day

Today, June 14, dozens of rescuers and firefighters from the south of the country donated blood for people in need. Employees of the General Inspectorate of Emergency Situations (IGSU) from the Rescue and Fire Brigade Unit Giurgiulesti went to work early in the morning to donate blood.

Firefighters claim that this action is a necessary one, because besides saving lives every day, they are also able to save people with health problems. IGSU employees were presented at the Cahul collection center and urged others to donate blood, reads a press release issued by IGSU.

Worldwide Blood Donor Day is an opportunity to raise awareness of the need for safe blood donation conditions. For the first time, the World Blood Donor Day was marked by the World Health Organization in 2004.
