Negative result in seven people tested for coronavirus

Seven people who had symptoms associated with the infection caused by the new type coronavirus were tested by the Ministry of Health. From the seven people samples were taken and transmitted for testing to the ANSP Laboratory, and the results were negative in the presence of a new type coronavirus, reports Radio Moldova.

The Ministry informs that people who had symptoms recently returned from Italy and one from Korea.

In the last 24 hours, at the Clinical Hospital for Infectious Diseases "Toma Ciorbă", more than 70 people with flu symptoms, acute respiratory infections were admitted. According to the head of the institution, Sergiu Vasilita, no case of coronavirus was found. Twenty seven patients remain in the hospital.

According to the authorities, the "Toma Ciorbă" Infectious Diseases hospital in the capital is equipped and has enough places to intervene if patients suffering from coronavirus are identified.

The World Health Organization will send to the Republic of Moldova a humanitarian lot of protective equipment for the employees of medical institutions, said the Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection, Viorica Dumbrăveanu.

Also, in three medical institutions the number of places for potential patients of the new type of coronavirus will be increased.

At the border crossing points, special rooms have been set up to isolate people suspected of being infected with the new coronavirus.

According to official data, no cases of illness of the new Covid virus - 19 have been registered so far in the Republic of Moldova.
