Government approves plan of events dedicated to the day of commemorating those who died in the Nistru War

The Cabinet of Ministers approved today the plan of events dedicated to the day of commemorating those who died in the Nistru War, marked annually on 2 March. The document includes a range of actions, due to be organized in Chisinau and in settlements in Moldova.

In Chisinau, the ceremony will begin with the march of remembrance, laying flowers and a commemorative rally at the Eternitate” memorial complex. Also, meetings with the veterans of the Nistru war will be held in the country's educational institutions and military units, TV and Radio programs and sports competitions will be organised. However, commemorative plaques will be installed in many localities, and some streets will be renamed in memory of the fallen heroes.

The action plan also provides annual support for families of victims and persons with disabilities. They will also receive the necessary health care.

This year, it turns 27 years since the beginning of the fighting for defending the integrity and independence of Moldova. About 60 thousand soldiers were involved in the armed conflict on the Nistru.
