Uninsured persons receive a monthly childcare allowance

From 2021, the amount of the monthly allowance for child care until the age of two is 740 lei, for the uninsured persons. The National Social Insurance House announces support is given to people who are not employed or who have a short contribution period, individual entrepreneurs or patent holders. If the applicant has received such allowances on the territory of another state, the monthly childcare allowance for that period is not established. The application can be submitted in electronic format, but also directly at CNAS, informs Moldova 1.

The application for the monthly childcare allowance until the age of two is submitted within 12 months from the birth of the little one.

"Unemployed persons who do not meet the required contribution period, which is three years in total or which is at least nine months in the period of 24 months prior to the date of birth of the child, and therefore these persons may benefit from a monthly allowance established in a fixed amount of 740 lei," said Lidia Cebotari, head of CNAS department.

If the applicant has received this allowance on the territory of another state, the support will not be calculated for that period upon return to the country.

"In the case of uninsured persons who have given birth to children on the territory of other states and do not benefit from these benefits on the territory where the child was born, they can also request the establishment of the indemnity,," mentioned Lidia Cebotari, head of CNAS.

Last year, about 33,500 uninsured people benefited from the monthly childcare allowance until the age of two.
