Danger of diphtheria spread in Moldova
Over 20 cases of diphtheria were registered during October-November in Ukraine, and one child died in Greece due to this disease. The coordinator of the National Immunization Program, Anatolie Melnic said that the danger of this disease spread in Moldova is quite high, reports Radio Moldova.
"There is potential of diphtheria spread in Moldova. There are communities with a high share of unvaccinated persons, such as some religious communities. Similar situation was with measles in Ceadâr-Lunga district, high migration, Roma population and adults who do not accept vaccination, revaccination”, said Anatolie Melnic.
