New operating room inaugurated at Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery from Moldova
A new operating room, endowed with medical apparatus ensuring aseptic security on the pandemic period, was inaugurated at the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery today.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Protection, In the new room, all apparatus is connected into an integrated information system, which minimizes the use of information on paper or film, reducing the risk of nosocomial infections. More exactly, the information about the patient which physicians get from medical apparatus is summed and permanently updated.
The room was equipped with an advanced ventilation system, the setting of which will contribute to the exclusion of the penetration of infections and contamination in the operations’ area, as well as to maintaining a clean air.
At the same time, a video system is installed in the operation room, which will allow broadcasting live the surgical interventions in the study room, thus giving students and residents possibility to better learn the ways and techniques specific to various pathologies and to also communicate with colleagues from other states online.
The works cost in all 7 million lei.
We remind that the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery "Diomid Gherman" is one of the medical institutions in Moldova that ensures the treatment of neurosurgical performance of the most serious and complicated pathologies of the brain and peripheral nervous system. Previously, these interventions were performed in universal operating rooms, equipped with neurosurgical and anesthesiological equipment from the 1980s-90s.
