A new tree planting action in Chisinau

A new tree planting action took place today in Chisinau. The action is the last of this year within the Greening Campaign of the city, and the mayor Ion Ceban wanted to thank his partners, colleagues and all those who were involved in the planting.

This time, trees were planted on the street alignment of Ştefan cel Mare şi Sfânt boulevard, where a commercial pavilion was recently evacuated, but also on Bucureşti street, on the section of A. Pushkin street - Mitropolit G. Bănulescu - Bodoni street.

The planted trees are maples two or three meters high, with a bale of earth.

„Instead of the pavilion illegally located on bd. Ştefan cel Mare şi Sfant, we planted 5 young maples, and the sidewalk was rehabilitated, for the benefit of pedestrians. We planted another 100 trees on the street alignments of Bucharest - A. Pushkin - Metropolitan G. Bănulescu-Bodoni street, and in total, about 2,000 trees were planted on the territory of the capital," Ion Ceban specified.

During the Tree Planting Campaign launched in the autumn of this year, on the territory of Chisinau, about 60,000 trees of different species were planted. Thus, the capital joined the Global Campaign "Greening Cities", initiated by the Economic Commission of the United Nations for Europe (UNECE), at the initiative of the Executive Secretary, Olga Algayerova.

The actions of planting trees on the territory of Chisinau municipality will continue in spring.
