A police car involved in an accident: The policeman, transported to the hospital
A car of the National Inspectorate of Public Security of the IGP was involved today in a road accident on the Chisinau-Balti route. Following the accident, the 25-year-old patrol policeman, who was in the service car, was transported to the Orhei District Hospital with various traumas.
Police determined that, while the car was stationing on the right side of the road, monitoring road traffic, it was hit from behind by a Mercedes car, driven by a 46-year-old man from Ocnita.
"The General Inspectorate of Police specifies that the Dacia brand service car was staying regularly and according to the dislocation - on the side of the road, being visible to all participants in road traffic. In the action "10 days of activities against road accidents", it was positioned in the place where two years ago a serious accident occurred, as a result of which four people died and two were seriously traumatized," the Police mention on facebook.
The driver of the other car was tested with the Drager device, the result of the presence of alcohol in the expired air being negative.
The case is being investigated by law enforcement.
