Militaries of the National Army donate blood
National Army militaries donated blood under the campaign organized by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection and the National Blood Transfusion Center on the occasion of the World Blood Donor Day. The action took place during 11-12 June in all military garrisons, reads a press release issued by the Ministry of Defense.
According to the head of the medical-military division, Lieutenant Colonel Sergiu Cîrlan, on Tuesday, June 10, 40 soldiers from the Dacia Motorized Infantry Brigade and 60 from the Military Camp 142, as well as 50 students of the Military Academy "Alexandru cel Bun" voluntarily donated blood to collection centers located in the units.
Another 90 soldiers from the Motorized Infantry Brigade "Moldova" joined the campaign on Wednesday, June 12th.
We remind that about 1,300 soldiers participate annually in blood donation campaigns, including the National Army.
The World Health Organization decided in 2005 to dedicate a special day to blood donors. Thus, June 14 was declared the World Blood Donor Day.
