Members of CSS will be required to know the Romanian language

The members of the Supreme Security Council (CSS) will be obliged to know the Romanian language and to have an impeccable reputation. These are the provisions of a decree amending the CSS regulation, signed by the president Maia Sandu and published in the Official Gazette, Mesager reports.

The document comes to amend an older decree issued by the former president Petru Lucinschi,  in 1997. In the document it was added that the members of the CSS can have their right of access to the state secret.

The CSS includes, ex officio, the President of the Parliament, the Prime Minister, the President of the National Security Commission, the Ministers of Defense and Internal Affairs, the Director of the Intelligence and Security Service, the Prosecutor General and the Governor of the National Bank. However, the President may appoint other members of the CSS as members.
