Pupils from Moldova awarded silver and bronze at the International Olympiad in Informatics

Pupils from Moldova were awarded silver and bronze at the International Olympiad in Informatics, that was held between August 4 -11, 2019, in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The silver medal was given to the student Alexandru Rudi, and the bronze medal was offered to Gabriel Cojocaru. The winners are students of the Theoretical  Lyceum "Orizont" in Chisinau.

330 students from 87 countries participated in the current edition of the International Olympiad in Informatics.

In the competition, Moldova was represented by four students and two teachers:

  1. Gabriel Cojocaru, pupil in the XII-th grade, Theoretical Lyceum „Orizont”, Chişinău;
  2. Alexandru Rudi, pupil in the XII-th grade, Theoretical Lyceum „Orizont”, Chişinău;
  3. Claudiu Babin, pupils in the XI-th grade, Theoretical Lyceum „Orizont”, Chişinău;
  4. Victor Melinceanu, pupils in the XI-th grade, Theoretical Lyceum „Mircea Eliade”, Chişinău;
  5. Igor Bercu, IT product manager, E-Governance Center of the Republic of Moldova;
  6. Mihail Croitor, coordinator and software developer, E-Governance Center of the Republic of Moldova.

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Research and the National Agency for Curriculum and Evaluation congratulate the winners, teachers and parents and wish them success.
