Ion Chicu: We will not admit delays in payment of salaries and pensions

The financial situation in the Republic of Moldova is difficult, but manageable. The statement belongs to Prime Minister Ion Chicu and was made during the show "Public Life" on Radio Moldova. The head of the Cabinet also mentioned that the Government is taking all measures to provide citizens with pensions and salaries in time.

"The budgetary situation is very complicated, almost two months all economic activity has been blocked. This was immediately reflected in budget revenues. If we let people work in the state administration, at the Ministry of Finance, FISC, Customs, I am sure that we will overcome this situation. The budget deficit planned after rectification is 16.2 billion lei, we manage things, we will not admit arrears of salaries, pensions. We are continuing the talks with the EU, they announced that credit amount of 100 million, which could be accessed during the year. This week, we signed that letter to the European Commission, we also agreed to the conditions for this loan. We hope that this loan will be disbursed during the year. Currently, we have enough money to honor our obligations," Ion Chicu specified.
