Other 7 people die of flu in Moldova
Seven people died of flu last week. These are five men and two women aged 25 to 70 from Chisinau, Ungheni, Nisporeni, Cimislia, Anenii Noi and Taraclia. None of these people were vaccinated against the seasonal flu, reports the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.
Thus, 27 deaths were recorded between October 1, 2018 - February 17, 2019 of which 25 were confirmed by the lab with flu A (H1N1).
A press release of the Ministry of Health reports that the epidemiological situation in Moldova is currently at moderate intensity level. According to data from administrative territories, between February 11 to 17, incidence of acute upper respiratory infections was 447.27 cases per 100 000 people, exceeding the epidemic threshold, with a decrease of 12.4% compared to the previous week.
294 cases of seasonal flu, including 43 confirmed by the lab, 15,882 cases of upper respiratory tract infections and 589 cases of severe acute respiratory infections were recorded in the afore-mentioned week.
