Russian Federation backs the agricultural sector in Moldova
In today's meeting, the Government approved the signing of the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Moldova on granting non-reimbursable financial assistance to the Government of the Republic of Moldova in the amount of up to 275 million Russian rubles (about 3 million euros).
The financial means provided in the bilateral treaty are to be distributed to the agricultural producers from Moldova who suffered in 2020 due to the severe drought and the crisis, caused by COVID-19.
"I want to thank the partners in the Russian Federation for accepting our request. We come with assurances that this money will be used by the agricultural producers who have suffered from natural disasters ", said the Prime Minister Chicu.
At the same time, the Prime Minister asked Minister Perju to prepare a Regulation for the distribution of financial means, so that farmers affected by natural disasters can receive the compensation provided for in the act immediately after signing the agreement.
The Russian side is to transfer the financial means provided for in the agreement within 5 days from the date of signing the Agreement.
