Better conditions for patients! Over 3500 people in the village of Hagimus, Causeni district and from Gâsca, Mereneşti, Chiţcani villages, in Tighina from the Transnistrian region have access to quality medical services. A Family Physician Center was opened in Hagimus village with the support of the European Union. The people will benefit from modern conditions and equipment, Mesager reports.

Petru Râmbu is 81 and it is hard for him to go to Causeni for medical examination. Now, he can do these investigations in  the Family Physician Center established in his settlement.

"I am very happy. The help from the EU is Union a step forward to civilization and to our health”, said  resident of the Hagimus village, Petru Rambu.

Other residents, including those from the Transnistrian villages, enjoy quality medical care and better outpatient conditions.

"The villagers are glad that you did this for people," " It is hot in winter,  we have better conditions", "There is a toilet, it is warm”, said the residents.

The Family Physician Center was rebuilt from the ground. At present the building has autonomous heating, aqueduct and sewerage.

“It is better now. We have good working conditions. We can perform medical check-ups without the fear the patients might catch a cold during the winter, as it was in the old building”,  says nurse Elena Medvedeva.

In eight months since the opening of the new facility, 3500 people have registered with the new Family Physician Center, including 600 people from the left bank of Nistru.

"We are grateful to the EU for the assistance provided to the population of Moldova from both banks of the river”, said Fabien Schaeffer, project manager at the European Union Delegation in the Republic of Moldova.

EU allocated over 120 thousands euros to this project under the European Union’s Program “Confidence Building Measures”, implemented by UNDP. The district authorities contributed with a sum of 23.000 euros.

"Thank you for the financial contribution for Moldova, for making it a better world”, said mayor of Hagimus village Anatol Iepure.

The Family Physician Center in Hagimus is one of the more than 80 infrastructure objectives refurbished in the framework of the European Union’s Programme “Confidence Building Measures”. The Program contributes to build confidence among the inhabitants from both banks of the Nistru river by involving them in joint projects.
