Airport concession, subject of dispute between the former and current Minister of Justice

Sparks between the current and former Minister of Justice. Fadei Nagacevschi states that four months have been lost because the lawsuit against JSC „Avia-Invest" regarding the invalidity of the concession contract of Chisinau airport was drafted incorrectly and unprofessionally. Contacted by Moldova 1, former Justice Minister Olesea Stamate rejected the accusations.

According to Nagacevschi, due to procedural lapses in the preparation and filing of the action, the Chisinau District Court (Rîşcani Headquarters) issued a conclusion through which it decided to grant to the Public Property Agency (APP) a 20-day deadline to remove the loopholes so that the action does not be declared inadmissible. The Minister of Justice also states that "four months in the case of an asset, which the members of the former executive declared strategically important, and now they are trying to accuse us that we do not take decisive measures. We act resolutely and competently. The question is - what did they do?” asked the Justice Minister Fadei Nagacevschi."

On the other hand, former Justice Minister Olesea Stamate rejects the accusations. She argues that the courts do not subordinate themselves to the Ministry of Justice and that the 20-day deadline for removing gaps is a natural action.

"I think the current minister either is wrong with math or he's wrong with the judiciary field. To confuse 20 days would be the deadline that could be missed in this four months when the courts did nothing to advance this case. And here comes the second chapter of the minister's incompetence that the courts do not subordinate themselves to the ministry of justice," said former Justice Minister Olesea Stamate.

In September, the APP filed a lawsuit against "Avia Invest", requesting the recognition of the cancellation of the contract of August 30, 2013 for the concession of the assets under the management of the Chisinau International Airport and its land.
