Chisinau celebrates 584 years since the first attestation

Today, October 14, the capital of the Republic of Moldova celebrates 584 years since the first documentary attestation. The holiday program includes several artistic and cultural activities and will be broadcast online.

The program begins, traditionally, with the Holy Mass of the Feast at the Metropolitan Cathedral "Nativity" and flower arrangements at the monument of Prince Stephen the Great and Saint.

The official inauguration of the holiday, with the motto "Prayer for health", will take place in the Square of the Metropolitan Cathedral "Nativity".

As stated by the Chisinau City Hall, the program of events included activities for a diverse audience: classical music, folklore, jazz, songs performed by children, light and choral music.

According to the program, between 11:00 and 18:00, the Fair of Craftsmen will take place in the Square of the Metropolitan Cathedral "The Nativity of the Lord".

For 16:00, the photographic exhibition of the medical staff fighting in the front line is scheduled. Also, starting with 16:00, in the Public Garden of Stephen the Great and Saint, a musical-literary event will be presented with the title: My White City. And on the pedestrian alley on Eugen Doga Street, the musical-literary action "Wishing for Chisinau" can be admired.

Recitals of poetry and classical and folk music will take place in the parks of Valea Morilor, Alunelul, La Izvor, Valea Trandafirilor, but also on the alley on Mircea cel Bătrân Street.

At 19:00, Chisinau residents are invited to the Municipal Youth Square for an outdoor documentary.

"We propose a beautiful patron saint, with local artists and soul events, and people can choose for participation in events according to personal preferences," mentioned the mayor Ion Ceban.

Throughout the day, in the sectors of the capital, there will be music recitals of various kinds, fairs of folk craftsmen and ECO products, trips to the History Museum, photo exhibitions, poetry recitals, book and mask exhibitions, cinema in open air, theatrical demonstrations of equestrian mastery, musical-literary performances dedicated to the city of Chisinau, etc.

The events dedicated to the Chisinau Feast will take place, both in the city center and in sectors: in the square of the Monument of Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici, at the Roundabout in the "Valea Morilor" Park and at the Granite Stairs, in the Stefan cel Mare Park, nearby Holy Gates, on the pedestrian street Eugen Doga, on the alley on Mircea cel Batran Boulevard, in the "Alunelul" Park, in the square on Bucuriei Street or in the "La Izvor" Park, etc..

"This year, it will be without large crowds. We set out to redirect the world by sectors. 15 locations have been established where there will be events, but of much smaller scale, because we cannot let this holiday pass like this. But I urge the people of Chisinau to be careful," Valentina Volontir, head of the Culture Department, mentioned for Moldova 1.

The participants in the events organized by the municipality will be provided with protective masks and disinfectants, and the places provided for each action will not exceed the number of 50 people, according to the rigors established by the public health authorities.

TRM.MD recalls that today, Orthodox Christians of the old rite celebrate the Cover of the Most Holy Mother of God and the everlasting Virgin Mary.
