Local public authorities will continue to fight with street sales

Local public authorities will continue to fight with street sales. The interim mayor of Chisinau, Ruslan Codreanu, told today a meeting of the mayoralty that the measure was taken to ensure the food safety and keep the sidewalks that are intended for pedestrians not for commercial spaces, reports Radio Moldova.

Codreanu promises that, as last year, local authorities will organize thematic fairs in the city's sectors, aimed at supporting the small business.

The mayor of the capital calls for all economic agents to comply with the rules and enter the markets, respecting the legislation and also coming up with innovative approaches.

The Chisinau mayor recalled that stationing and parking on the sidewalks is forbidden.

TRM.MD recalls that last week, between a dairy trader and local public authorities broke out a scandal. The trader accused the city hall officials of not letting him sell his product, while those in the city hall say that the manufacturer has to comply with the rules and sell in special spaces arranged for trade but not in the street.
