Today is Civil Aviation Day
Today, Civil Aviation turns 76 years old. The history of the Civil Aviation of the Republic of Moldova begins in 1944, when the Decree “On the creation of the Moldovan civil aviation fleet for the needs of the national economy and the needs of the population" was issued. Over the years, Civil Aviation has opened up new markets, new opportunities for business and tourism. It is developing as an important field of the national economy, so that more than a third of the internationally traded goods are transported by air, Radio Moldova reports.
In a congratulatory message addressed to the workers in the field of Civil Aviation, President Igor Dodon thanks them for their service, dedication and service and wishes them a safe ascent on a professional and personal dimension.
"I am firmly convinced that the constant effort of each of you will be a step forward in the development of the civil aviation sector and in the prosperity of our state, the Republic of Moldova," the head of state's message reads.
TRM.MD recalls that on September 19, 2009, the Open Day at the airport was organized for the first time.
