Employees of the National Ethnography Museum gave the martisors to Chisinau residents

They have given traditional martisors, to be worn by the inhabitants of the capital. Employees of the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History shared the spring symbols to the passers-by, which they made. The people remained impressed by the gesture of the museum workers, Moldova 1 reports.

"We want to give these martisors to all who will pass through the park today, to make them happy. It's something unusual, something that our ancestors wore, and we want to promote this habit of wearing it. People started to wear them on the chest after the Second World War. It's beautiful on the chest too, but it's also beautiful on hand," said the museographer, Elena Delinschi.

"It is a symbol of our culture, because we all know that in September 2017 our Martisor was included in the UNESCO heritage list, which makes us even more persistent in promoting this Mărţişor which has more than 2,000 years in the Romanian space and not only," said the director of the History and Ethnography Museum, Petru Vicol.

The museographers organized workshops for students to make martisors. At the same time, the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History announces that in March more actions will be taken for those who want to know more about the art of making the spring symbol.
