False bomb alert at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Chisinau
Bomb alert at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Chisinau. The information was confirmed for TRM.MD by Natalia Stati, press officer at the Chisinau Police. The area was surrounded and the staff evacuated. Following the checks, the bomb alert turned out to be false.
UPDATE: Explosive means were not found, writes Ziarul de Garda.
UPDATE: “The Police Inspectorate of the Buiucani sector was notified about this fact, as there is a suspicious explosive object at the Embassy of the Russian Federation. All the specialized services went to the scene and measures are taken to establish the circumstances," said Natalia Stati.
According to the Criminal Code, knowingly lying about the preparation of explosions, arson or other life-threatening actions causes material damage to a large extent or causes other serious consequences is punishable by a fine of 550 to 850 conventional units or unpaid community service from 180 to 240 hours, or imprisonment for up to two years.
