131 years since the passing away of Mihai Eminescu

Today 131 years are marked since the death of the Romanian poet Mihai Eminescu. "Luceafărul poeziei româneşti" died on June 15, at the age of 39, in Bucharest, and is buried in the same city, at the Bellu Cemetery. On this occasion, several officials laid flowers early in the morning on the bust of the poet in the alley of the classics in the capital.

The great Mihai Eminescu was also honored by the President of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Dodon, ministers, deputies, as well as admirers of Eminescu work.

In this sense, the speaker of the Parliament, Zinaida Greceanii, declared that the greatest poet of our nation has left us a huge literary heritage, which it is our duty to preserve and pass on to future generations.

The poet, prose writer and journalist Mihai Eminescu (Mihail Eminovici) was born on January 15, 1850, in Botoşani. He published his first poem at the age of 16.
