An old man from Lozova, saved from the fire

An 83-year-old man from Lozova, Straseni district, was rescued from the fire by volunteer firefighters.

According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, a fire engulfed the home of the old man who was alone in the house. The first firefighters from the Lozova Rescue Station intervened on the spot.

Arriving at destination, the rescuers entered the house flooded with smoke and managed to save the owner of the house who was lying unconscious in the hall. The 83-year-old man received the necessary care, being transported to the district hospital in Straseni.

The fire was extinguished with the involvement of the intervention guard of the Rescue and Fire Department from Straseni.

The circumstances and cause of the burning are to be determined by specialists. The volunteer fire and rescue station in Lozova is part of the 72 volunteer fire stations launched by the public authorities and supported by the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations.

According to the Program for the consolidation of the rescue and fire service in rural localities, the operation of voluntary posts helps to reduce the response time in case of fires and other risk situations that occur in localities far from professional sheds.
