The national tourism sector, affected by the pandemic

The pandemic has also significantly affected the national tourism sector. In the last half year, the traditional boarding houses and houses that were previously full of tourists have remained deserted. This is also the case of the craftswoman Nina Manea from Căinarii Vechi village, Soroca district. Since the spring, tourists have stopped stepping on the threshold of the center she founded. Previously, the craftswoman organized master classes and weaving workshops for traditional lovers, Moldova 1 reports.

Previously, the craft center "Craftswoman", run by Nina Manea, was very popular with lovers of traditions, including foreign tourists. Goodwill, folk songs and the smell of Moldovan food completed the rustic atmosphere. The woman remembers with nostalgia the life of another time, shattered by the pandemic crisis.

"The village of Căinarii Vechi is a beautiful one with hardworking people, who knew how to keep one of the oldest occupations - shepherding. Proof is the festival we have "Pe-un picior de plai", says Nina Manea, folk craftsman.

Nina Manea managed to revive the old traditions. Thanks to its efforts, the village of Căinarii Vechi has become a real attraction for foreign tourists. The locality was included in the Tourist Route - Craftsmen's Road, promoted within a cross-border project.

In the future, the peasant household suggestively named "La Bunica" also wants to offer accommodation services in traditional rural conditions. The development of rural tourism represents for the Soroca district a great opportunity for the sustainable development of the region.
