Church in Ocniţa district on fire
The church "Acoperamintul Maicii Domnului” in Grinăuţi-Moldova settlement, Ocniţa district caught fire yesterday afternoon.
The call to the 112 service was registered at 15:48. According to information from the General Inspectorate for Emergencies, the fire covered the church roof, the material goods inside, and some rooms were full of smoke.
There were five intervention vehicles on site. Rescuers localized the fire and prevented the spread of fire and damage to the construction. Also, several material goods, icons and other religious objects have been saved.
No one suffered because of the fire but the flames destroyed 80% of the roof of the holy place.
The circumstances and cause of the fire will be determined later.
