The Hincesti-Leova-Cahul-Giurgiulesti road will be rehabilitated
This morning the contract for the rehabilitation of the road R34 Hînceşti- Leova- Cahul- Giurgiulesti, with a total length of 83 kilometers, was signed, Radio Moldova reports.
The reconstruction of this road is very important for the development of the economy of the Republic of Moldova and especially for the southern area, said the interim director of the State Road Administration, Andrei Cuculescu.
"The R34 Road Hânceşti-Leova-Cahul Slobozia Mare is the second Center-South road that will essentially improve the traffic conditions, the traffic situation, in parallel with the Giurgiulesti road, which is now being rehabilitated. On October 24, 2019, through the electronic procurement portal of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), 16 offers were received on the first lot and 17 offers on the second lot: the first lot, from Hânceşti to the village of Cneazovca and the second lot from Cneazovca to the intersection of Cantemir. Then we shall extend the project to the city of Cahul,” pointed out Andrei Cuculescu.
The rehabilitation works are funded by the EBRD. According to the conditions set by the contractor, the works can take 915 days.
