Two people detained following searches at the Ialoveni Police Inspectorate

Two patrol agents were detained for 72 hours and escorted to the National Anticorruption Center's isolator, while two more people are searched for identification and detention after on Monday anti corruption prosecutors, along with the Internal Protection Service officers of the MIA conducted searches at the Ialoveni Police Inspectorate.

According to a communiqué from the Prosecutor's Office, the raids took place in the offices of the patrol inspectors, but also in the service vehicle. In the car, prosecutors found large sums of money.

At the same time, anti corruption prosecutors take measures to identify all those who would have gave money to police officers.

Employees of the National Patrol Inspectorate are suspected of passive corruption. If their guilt is proven in court, police officers risk a five to ten year prison sentence, with a fine of 1,000 to 3,000 conventional units, and the deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or to exercise a certain activity over a period of two to five years.
