International Women’s Day marked in Moldovan villages

They work the land, clean the house or cook meals for the beloved. This is how women in the village celebrate March 8. They say that on the International Women's Day they feel special, even if they do not go to beauty salons and are not aware of the latest trends in fashion, Mesager reports.

Daria Bordian was working around the house. The  60-year-old woman says that  March 8 is a usual day for her. The woman raised and educated three children.

"I have done some work around the house, then I go to the kitchen to prepare some food, rolled rice cabbage and others, children will visit me in the evening”, said Daria Bordian.

Also, women from Solcani village celebrated the International Women's Day.

"We both work in the garden and prepare some food, as it is the 8th of March, the children and the grandchildren come to congratulate us”, said another woman.

More than 1000 people live in the village of Solcani, in  Soroca, of which half are women.
