Renovated library in Lunga village, Floresti district

The library in Lunga village in Floresti district has been capital renovated and is ready to receive its visitors with the lifting of restrictive measures, applied to prevent the spread of COVID-19. With the onset of the Coronavirus pandemic, the institution underwent modernization work. The library has a book fund of over seven thousand copies, 80 percent being in Romanian, reports Moldova 1.

The room where the books are kept got a fresh and bright look.

"Current repairs, we were painting, we changed the windows. With the participation in the "Novateca" project, we benefited from two computers, and this year we made a major repair and we even enjoy new furniture, which I hope users will enjoy when they enter the library again," said Ala Movilă, librarian.

The institution has been transformed into a real laboratory of experiments and studies. The administrator of the library, Ana Movilă, says that the oldest reader is 80 years old.

"At the moment, we have about seven thousand documents in the library. We complete the book fund with the help of the mayor's office and donations from the Culture, Tourism and Sports Department, Floresti, we also participate in projects. The main beneficiaries, as in any library, are the children, but I am very happy that my countrymen come to the library," the librarian added.

Along with 63 other public libraries, the institution from the village of Lunga, Floresti, was included in the Moldovan-Romanian project "Time to know". Every year, the library is visited by over 600 readers.
