New political party officially registered in Moldova
A new party was registered in Moldova. This is the Political Party for People, Nature and Animals (PONA). According to the co-founder, lawyer Ion Dron, the new party has seven founding members. The party is the 65th party registered by the Public Services Agency in the list of parties in Moldova, Mesager reports.
"After almost three years of lawsuits, I came into possession of the decision of the Public Services Agency for the registration of the PONA Political Party. We managed to register the party with only seven founding members. We managed to convince before the Constitutional Court that the threshold of four thousand signatures and the administrative-territorial principle of party formation, until its registration, are unconstitutional criteria and in contradiction with the European Convention. As for our program and the principles, we will return with details soon", wrote the new president of the party, Ion Dron.
We remind you that in 2017, an initiative group, including the lawyer Ion Dron, announced the creation of a new political party in Moldova: the Animal Welfare Party.
